PLAYhomes is a brand by PLAYstudio whose main purpose is the design and construction of domestic spaces on a small scale – mainly the single-family house – from the Mediterranean cultural specificity, in general, and from the White Coast, in particular. Therefore, it aims for the singularity and character imposed by both its geographic location and its inhabitants. In parallel, PLAYhomes defends the economy of resources through the creative management of the budget and the ecology of design.

PLAYhomes continues a typical way of making within the Mediterranean White Coast. An unprejudiced and enjoyable way that values popular culture, mixing things, reusing and reinventing oneself; and, in turn, assumes the need to innovate from the present to turn the ordinary into extraordinary.

PLAYhomes continues a way of understanding the Mediterranean culture from the relationship between the home and the climate and the environment: inhabiting the Mediterranean implies a particular way of understanding the light and the shadow, the breeze touch, the scents from the countryside or the coast, the presence of the earth and the sky, the passage of the seasons, the brightness of the water, the colours of the sun… But it also represents a particular way of understanding relationships between humans and non-humans through the different parts of the house: the kitchen, the porch, the patio…

PLAYhomes, in this way, designs homes with Mediterranean personality and with the uniqueness projected by the clients themselves. Each person’s peculiar world is a wonderful opportunity to create diverse, different and characteristic homes, but also exciting and surprising.
